''Pseudognaphalium obtusifolium'' is a member of the Asteraceae family, found on open dry sandy habitat throughout Eastern North America. Common names include old field balsam, rabbit tobacco and sweet everlasting. When crushed, the plant exudes a characteristic maple syrup scent.
