Isopeda villosa huntsman This chap was a lodger in my house a couple of years ago. Excellent pest control, I saw him munching on a cockroach or two over the couple of weeks he lived here. But, the time came when I had to take him outside after this shot - my daughter was visiting and after seeing him tucked away on this balluster as she climbed the stairs for bed - there was no way she would rest until he was outside. (No matter I told her there may be others, just because we can&#039;t see them, doesn&#039;t mean they aren&#039;t there hee hee). <br />

"Isopeda villosa" is a species of huntsman spider native to New South Wales, Australia, and possibly established in Auckland, New Zealand. It was first described by Ludwig Carl Christian Koch in 1875.
