Erodium telavivense is an annual plant of the Geraniaceae family. it grows along the coastal plains of Israel, Lebanon and Syria. it was described by the Israeli botanist Alexander Eig, and was named after the city of Tel Aviv.

when I was a kid, my mom used to show this to me & my sister: find dry Erodium seeds, pour water over them and see them drilling themselves. Posted 4 years ago
Check this out! This is a seed from the Erodium telavivense plant. It grows along the coastal plains of Israel, Lebanon, and Syria. When the weather is dry, the seeds bide their time and wait. But, once they get wet, they coil up like a corkscrew and drill themselves into the wet soil thus planting themselves!
