    1. Haha! My husband just educated me on it because I also did not know the reason: they are call boring because they incrust themselves on material. Is another meaning of the verb bore: to make by boring or digging away material, bored a tunne,l use a drill to bore a hole through the board.

      And like I say, I also did not know so good point that you brought it up :-)

The boring clam, crocus clam, crocea clam or saffron-coloured clam is a species of bivalve in the family Cardiidae. It is native to the Indo-Pacific region. It is occasionally found in the aquarium trade where it is often simply referred to as ''crocea''.
