Female Anemone coronaria - close up
Anemone flowers are usually Monoecious - with both pistil and stamens on the same flower.
A few years ago I learned from Prof. Avi Shmida from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem that in rare cases you can find Anemones where the stamens haven't developed (degenerated? I'm not sure what is the correct term). a little after that I found some of those female Anemones!
