Camillea tinctor Tentative ID. Gonna go back and recheck some features (ostioles and wood staining), but this seems right? Growing on a hardwood tree near a seasonal stream in a dense mixed forest.
I've gone back and corrected these IDs (which I previously thought were Diatrype stigma). This is an entirely different (and new) family!
1. Your cool finds streak keeps going, I'm seriously amazed at your observations, even more given the season. Posted 4 years ago
1. Thanks! These can be found year round on our land. I just assumed they were all Diatrype stigma, but I'm learning new things every day :) Posted 4 years ago
2. Also, it is a pretty fruitful winter. Strange weather though. Back and forth between mild and below freezing. I think this is the most frost we have had in several years. I'm still waiting on some damned snow to stick though! We have had lots of rain (which isn't super abnormal for here) and sleet. Posted 4 years ago
3. oh, it looks like I need to make a separate entry for Camillea as it keeps redirecting to the old genus name, Hypoxylon. Posted 4 years ago
1. Sorry, can you clarify with more specific what you're trying to do. In case there is a faulty redirect (usually inherited from Wikipedia) it's something I must fix. Posted 4 years ago
