Aleurotuba jelinekii - Puparium Another parasite on Viburnum tinus, the Viburnum whitefly.<br />
This whole &quot;structure&quot; approaches nearly 1mm in diameter, but I found that with the bulky wax mass on top it is a real challenge to find a sweet spot for focusing with enough/desired magnification.<br />
Some sources seem to address this as the puparium while others address it as a nymph/larva, with the same naming issue as with <a href="https://www.jungledragon.com/tag/56033/lichtensia_viburni.html" title="Lichtensia viburni" class="tag"><em>9</em>Lichtensia viburni</a> : It being a Hemiptera would suggest &quot;nymph&quot; but many authors seem to prefer &quot;larva&quot;. Aleurotuba jelinekii, the Viburnum whitefly is a species of Whitefly (Aleyrodidae) that is technically polyphagous, but has a clear preference for Viburnum spp., mostly even just Viburnum tinus.
