  1. Love these kind of insect scale shots. I have a follow-up in the pipeline to supplement this one. It shows saundersi with a mite (I think) next to it about 20 times smaller still. Posted 4 years ago
    1. We have tiny pink babies of 2Vertagopus arboreus intermixed with the Dicyrtom(in)a's but I've had no luck yet getting these in focus, let alone together with a "huge" Dicyrtomina. Looking forward to your image! :o) Posted 4 years ago, modified 4 years ago

Dicyrtomina saundersi is one of the small "globular" Springtails (Collembola) from the family Dicyrtomidae. Within its distribution range it is easily found in leaf litter from late fall to early spring. It can be confused with other species of Dicyrtomina, most notably with D. ornata.
