    1. I go to these pools to look for water buttercups (Ranunculus peltatus) - but since there weren't enough rains, the flowers are not even starting, so you can see all the creatures that usually hide between the leaves... :-) Posted 4 years ago, modified 4 years ago
      1. Oh yes, sometimes I fill a glass of water from the pond, crazy what tiny creatures live in it. Hard to photograph though! Posted 4 years ago

Chirocephalus neumanni is a fairy shrimp described in Israel, in 1967. Chirocephalus neumanni, an Anostracan inhabiting fresh-water temporary pools near Tel-Aviv and elsewhere in Israel, is described and figured. It differs from C. appendicularis Vavra in the form of the male second antenna, the shorter antennal process of the male, and the presence of dorso-lateral abdominal processes in the female.
