White-tailed Deer Antler Tip - (Odocoileus virginianus)
Males shed and regrow their antlers each year. Antlers primarily function as objects of sexual attraction and as weapons in fights between males. The timing of antler-drop varies, with many males shedding their antlers in late December, and most having shed them by early March. Once a deer sheds its antlers, new growth starts immediately.
**I have a fairly large collection of natural curiosities and decided to share some on JungleDragon. I have been collecting bits of nature for years and also have many friends who have shared things with me. Everything in my collection was ethically collected/harvested/sourced and is cruelty-free.
