Birch in trouble Most Birch trees on the island are obviously having trouble keeping healthy in the saline winds. Birch in trouble

Most Birch trees on the island are obviously having trouble keeping healthy in the saline winds. The Silver birch

''Betula pendula'' is a species of tree in the family Betulaceae, native to Europe, though in southern Europe it is only found at higher altitudes. Its range extends into southwest Asia in the mountains of northern Turkey and the Caucasus.
