  1. This is another one that has been split. It used to be part of the Chestnut Antpitta, which was already endemic to Peru, and has now been divided into three more localized species. Posted 4 years ago

The Oxapampa Antpitta is a newly described Antpitta species, previously considered part of the Chestnut Antpitta. It is endemic to the Andes of Central Peru, generally at lower elevations that what used to be considered the Rufous Antpitta.
