Eurymetopus birabeni weevil
Eurymetopus birabeni, a broad-nosed weevil, non-native to Australia, native to temperate South America.
Pale brown with dark brown patches. Tend to be polyphagous herbivores, found close to preferred food source - however I found this specimen trundling along a garden wall. Some of these weevils are notorious pests of major economic importance. Larvae of the group generally live in soil and feed on roots. Eggs are dropped, laid on soil under plant, but never placed in plant tissues.
10 mm in length.
