  1. Ernst, about the renaming...doesn't seem that way:

    Check the taxonomy tab of each and scroll down. Normally, when two names map to a single species, it will be listed there as such. That doesn't seem to be true in this case. Within iNaturalist, they are considered separate species.

Castiarina erythroptera is an Australian species of jewel beetle. It was described by Boisduval in 1835.
