Fun fact: wood lice are originally sea creatures. They still have their gills in their hind legs, which allows them to absorb oxygen from the air. I personally have an irrational fear of these things, as they always tend to surprise you when lifting up things.

"Oniscus asellus", the common woodlouse, is one of the largest and most common species of woodlouse in the British Isles and Western and Northern Europe, growing to lengths of 16 mm and widths of 6 mm.
