  1. How's the temps over there, Gary? Bracing for impact? Posted 4 years ago
    1. Ferdy, temps here are pretty mild (4°to6°C at night)... so far. We have had one strange snow fall with lightning and thunder but the snow is all gone. For our coastal regions the prediction is a wet, windy and normal temperature winter. Shall have to see but so far they are correct. Posted 4 years ago
      1. Quite similar to here in terms of temps, after a few record breaking warmer weeks. Thanks for the update. Posted 4 years ago
  2. I had doubts about the bait ball strategy until watching this video. It looks like a fishnado:

    1. Yes, they are quite fascinating to watch even from above water. Some of the diving birds are very good at cooperating together. While the birds are busy from above the fish and seals are often there from below. A spectacle for sure. Posted 4 years ago
      1. It sure sounds like a spectacle. Kind of amazing that any fish make it out alive. Posted 4 years ago
        1. That thought has run through my mind as well... often! Posted 4 years ago

The common gull or mew gull ''Larus canus'' is a medium-sized gull which breeds in northern Asia, northern Europe and northwestern North America. It migrates further south in winter. Its name does not indicate that it is an abundant species, but that during the winter it feeds on common land, short pasture used for grazing.
