  1. Nice! So this one shows the antennae difference with D. ornata very nicely. Posted 4 years ago
  2. Unrelated question: I've read there's a lot of discussion about the taxonomy of springtails. Do you think the structure we use is still up-to-date to latest insights? Any opinion on it? Posted 4 years ago
    1. Ferdy, maybe you have seen already this site? I have just added it to the Identification guide.

      1. Yes, did see it. It seems when searching around for springtails, you keep coming back to just a handful of sites. Thanks for adding it to the identification resources list! Posted 4 years ago
        1. If I would have to select _any_ site on Collembola to be "authoritative" to follow the taxonomic insights it would most certainly be Frans Janssens' site (collembola.org) and at least for this species our taxonomy coincides nicely (Ordo: Symphypleona, Fam.: Dicyrtomidae), so I'd comfortably stick with that. Dicyrtomina saundersi is one of the small "globular" Springtails (Collembola) from the family Dicyrtomidae. Within its distribution range it is easily found in leaf litter from late fall to early spring. It can be confused with other species of Dicyrtomina, most notably with D. ornata.
