  1. They are so easily overlooked. It seems quite often multiple species are on the same tree/pole.

    Recently read an article about a dutch specialist trying to map/photograph all lichens in the Netherlands that his go-to place is a graveyard. He finds dozens, sometimes hundreds of different species on the grave stones.

    Don't think I could do that though, I'd feel so exposed and embarrassed if other people would see me.

    1. And I just had some interesting information come to light. This is likely Bathelium carolinianum rather than Viridothelium virens. So a new species here! Woot!
