
Black Cloud (Artigisa melanephele)
A brown moth with a wingspan of about 30mm. Lower margins of both wings showed small scallops. The wings were a caramel brown with wavy black markings. Each wing appeared to have an irregular dark patch.
Spotted in a suburban garden on a warm night.

''Artigisa melanephele'' is a moth of the family Erebidae first described by George Hampson in 1914. It is known from Australia and New Zealand.
