Olive Leaf Fig galls
A male fig fruit cut open only to show black galls where fig wasps are cocooning inside waiting to hatch. This is a incredibly variable species. The name comes from some of the forms which have leaves like olive plant leaves. This is the most common montane fig species in the mountains of Sabah. Growing as a short shrub or small epiphyte usually less than 1m tall. Fruits are smooth and hard.
