Acorn Fig
Not to be confused with Ficus glandulifera, Ficus GLANDIFERA is a unique fig where the fruits look more like acorns. This fig is a rare island species and only found in a couple of small islands in Borneo. This species is so rare that it is like a ghost, its existence is doubted by many botanists. It is still a mystery why this species are so limited in distribution. This fig is a hemiepiphyte which strangles host tree with loots of roots. Fruits turn dark red when ripe.
