Another cool night! The usual photos of the Pacific Wren show the bird atop a branch singing its heart out. Seeing the bird as in this photo is “strange”. One person has recorded finding 31 of these birds crammed in a nesting box one winter to keep warm. The above photo was taken just after darkness fell and they have, as of yet, got comfortable. The Pacific wren is a very small North American bird and a member of the mainly New World wren family Troglodytidae. It was once lumped with ''Troglodytes hiemalis'' of eastern North America and ''Troglodytes troglodytes'' of Eurasia as the winter wren.
