Simply adorable. Fantastically quirky! Definitely curious. Maybe a bit cheeky? How would you caption this red squirrel photo?

  4. Great capture Claire, we also still have the red squirrel in Cumbria, although the greys have been and continue to be a constant threat north of Shap Fell over the past 20-25 years. Posted one year ago
    1. Thank you! Very fortunate on the Isle of Wight that there are no greys. I did see something on Autumn Watch that they were introducing Polecats to areas where there are both greys and reds as the polecats favour the greys. Interesting! Posted one year ago
      1. Hi Claire, Yes I saw that too, let's hope. It's only in the coniferous forests that the reds can out-compete the greys but it's the squirrel pox which is the real devastator. 18 months ago our reds, in my village caught it and were shot - but they're back now & touch wood, healthy.
