White-legged Snake Millipede (Tachypodoiulus niger) A difficult photo & video to take, this one.

I spotted this Millipede in the early hours while walking home from feeding my fox (more of him at a later date) and as you can see the Millipede is tiny, seen here in the crease of a leaf, illuminated by torch.
Nonetheless, fascinating to watch:

Fall,Geotagged,Tachypodoiulus niger,United Kingdom Click/tap to enlarge PromotedSpecies introCountry intro

  2. Mesmerizing legs. And a valuable species intro as we have few millipedes documented. Posted 4 years ago
    1. I just wish I'd had my flash with me.

Having said that, it was raining too so I may have ended up with frazzled hair!

      1. Heh, not a great combo indeed. That said, I've used my non-weather-sealed flash in various tropical showers without issue. Seems fine as long as you keep the battery chamber covered. Don't take it as a recommendation though, it's still best avoided. Posted 4 years ago
