
Nalassus laevioctostriatus (Goeze, 1777) is a common and widely distributed darkling beetle throughout large parts of Central Europe. In suitable habitats it can be quite abundant. The adult beetles are active at night and can often be found in large numbers grazing algae on tree trunks.
