  1. Laughing kookaburras have brown eyes and blue- winged kookaburras have staring white eyes.
    The laughing kookaburra also has a dark eye band ,which is missing with the blue-winged kookaburra . Amongst other differences the above are the most obvious ones.

The laughing kookaburra is a bird in the kingfisher subfamily Halcyoninae. It is a large robust kingfisher with a whitish head and a brown eye-stripe. The upperparts are mostly dark brown but there is a mottled light-blue patch on the wing coverts.
