
The black-faced antbird is a species of bird, about 12–13 cm long, in the antbird family Thamnophilidae. It is endemic to a wide range across the Amazon basin. It feeds on insects and spiders and sometimes follows army ants to catch the insects disturbed by their march.

This delightful little fellow is probably the commonest true antbird at El Paujil, and the easiest to see, as it regularly hops across trails or on semi-exposed branches. Posted 4 years ago
Well I'm off to the forest on Wednesday, and won't be back till November, so butterflies may catch up to birds in the meanwhile! Posted 4 years ago
