Hibbertia diffusa is a prostrate and suckering shrub. Leaves are 5 - 30 mm long and 3 - 9 mm wide. The yellow flowers are small at 20 mm diameter and occur over a relatively long period in spring and summer. This species is hardy in a range of climates usually forming a compact ground cover up to a metre in diameter. ''Hibbertia diffusa'' is a species of perennial shrub, in the family Dilleniaceae, endemic to the south eastern region in Australia. It has yellow five-petalled flowers. Flowering occurs from spring to autumn.
