Clouded Skipper Found on Lantana 10-3-20  Small, about same size as Fawn Skipper<br />

This is one if much smaller, the size of a Fawn Skipper. It does look like it has a flat snout unlike the pointed one on the American Snout Butterfly. Although it&#039;s interesting that the American Snout Butterfly is migrating through San Antonio at this time.<br />

Clouded Skipper

Found on Lantana 10-3-20 Small, about same size as Fawn Skipper

Clouded Skipper Found on Lantana the same time as the other butterfly posted separately.  This is one if much smaller, the size of a Fawn Skipper. It does look like it has a flat snout unlike the pointed one on the American Snout Butterfly. Although it's interesting that the American Snout Butterfly is migrating through San Antonio at this time.<br />

    1. I think Cymaenes trebius could be possible too, as they are quite similar. But, from what I've read, Cymaenes trebius is only found in the very southern part of Texas. Posted 4 years ago
    2. I'm thinking it is the Clouded Skipper rather than the fawn spotted because Ferdy had already identified a fawn spotted skipper on another post on mine, and this butterfly looks more red, and doesn't have a definite white fringed wing. Posted 4 years ago

''Lerema accius'', the clouded skipper, is a butterfly of the Hesperiidae family. It is found in the United States from Georgia west to Texas, south to Florida, and south through Mexico and Central America to Venezuela and Colombia.
