Exposed dune, Loonse en Drunense Duinen, Netherlands

Scenery from this National Park, which is a drift sand habitat. This is one of the dunes with on top dried our moss, and for some reason the side is exposed. Note all the tiny holes, ideal nesting for many species of insect.
