The stunning Kangaroo Paw (Anigozanthos rufus) is a perennial herb native to the southern coast of Western Australia. With strappy, evergreen leaves and red, velvety, tubular flowers, this plant can grow to a meter tall! The flowers are especially attractive to honey-eating birds, who pollenate the flowers. {Spotted in Australia by JungleDragon user, Calbost} #JungleDragon #Kangaroopaw #Australia #Anigozanthosrufus

  7. Those Anigozanthos growing in my garden just keep giving. I've lost count how many vase full I've been able to cut and bring inside (this probably encourages more blooms). I love to watch the native miners flying in and hopping from flower to flower, holding on to the long stalks. This one posted here has a beautiful, deep red colour. Posted 4 years ago
