    Thamnomanes anthsrikes are pretty unusual in the family, as they often serve as leaders for understorey mixed-species flocks, and all other members respond to their alarm calls and take cover. They have also been documented as being first up in the morning and rallying up the other members before they set out for the day (see John Terborgh's great papers from Cocha Casu).

The dusky-throated antshrike is a species of bird in the family Thamnophilidae. It is found in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.
