Downy Jumping Spider - frontal, Loonse en Drunense Duinen, Netherlands Very small (~5mm) and super active on this very hot day. As it does not have a very descriptive appearance, used external help to ID it. Some good info here (German):

In dutch it is simply called "Hairy jumping spider", although it doesn't seem more hairy than other jumping spiders. I believe it may be related to the hairy palps.

Note the name change of the species. It was Sitticus pubescens until 2017, yet is now called Attulus pubescens.
1. Such a cutie!! This one looks quite curious (much like other Salticids I have met)! <3 Posted 4 years ago
    1. A bit off-topic but I'm currently reading "Children of Time". This one reminds me of Portia, one of the main characters. In case you don't know the book, think of jumping spiders dropped on a new terraformed planet and then given a virus that dramatically accelerates their evolution, leading to an advanced jumping spider society. It's awesome. Posted 4 years ago
