Creeping Lespedeza (Lespedeza repens) ~ Rare White Form Growing in a moist section of a mixed woodland trail. A seasonal stream nearby. I had experts scratching their heads at this one. It was originally thought this might be the even rarer Desmodium ochroleucum, but Alan Weakley (author of Weakley's Key to Flora of the Southern and Mid-Atlantic States) stepped in and confirmed the above ID.

I've only ever seen this species in bright pink and a paler pink, so it is really cool to see it in pure white! Check out my other observations (with other color forms)
