By the way, natural landscape photos that do not clearly show a singular species are very much allowed. In that case we simply chose "no species on photo". Posted 4 years ago
I still removed the identification from the "formal" dialog, I'll explain why. First, of course, ideally the species itself is the focus of the photo. To enjoy it, as well as to verify its identification. But there's a second reason as well:

This is the species taxon browser. By identifying a species, it ends up in that tree. The cover photo from a taxon is calculated automatically, and for new species would be this photo. This would make visual navigation hard for users because a small thumbnail of your photo would mostly be dominated by the water.
Hope that makes sense. You can still put the identification notes in the title and description, and this way it will still be found using search. Plus, it's a great photo in general.
