Bath's Comb-Toot blenny - Ecsenius bathi - Alternative Form
The the more frequently encountered form of this species which also happens to have white facial and eye stripes has orange color with white and two longitudinal orange stripes stripes that are bisected by vertical stripes creating an attractive orange checkered pattern. See this form here:
In this spotting I show the other form of Ecsenius bathi which has yellow head stripes while the body is slightly grey with three long thin black lines running down the length of the body. This darker color form of Bath’s comb-blenny is usually observed at a much smaller size than its orange counterpart – small specimens of the orange E. bathi can be seen but not larger specimens of the darker color form.

"Ecsenius bathi", known commonly as the Bath's comb-tooth, is a species of combtooth blenny found in coral reefs in the western central Pacific ocean. The specific name honours the German ichthyologist Hans Bath who was a notable worker on blennies and who brought this species to Springer's attention and allowed him to describe it.
