  1. Beautiful title and magnificent shot, Claire. Posted 12 years ago
    1. Thanks Ludo, I was quite amazed at the quality of the photos taken on a 350D borrowed in an emergency! I started to wonder why I bought the 7D!!! Posted 12 years ago
  2. Wow, with a borrowed camera, and kit lens I bet? Don't worry, it is only proof that a truly good shot is made by a truly skilled photographer, given any circumstance, is it not? Your composition is great given any camera.
(though I bet your sharpness, contrast and range would still be better by using your 7D and a decent lens)
Hey, anyways, wish I was there too at that moment. I'd have borrowed the camera too. What happened, did your camera break, was the battery empty?

    1. No, The Elephant Park called us while we were out to say a baby was on its way so no time to grab my own camera. Unfortunately after a four hour wait the baby was stillborn. However it was lucky in that I got to watch these two youngsters having some fun!
The lens I used was actually one that I sold to my friend, a Canon 55-250, it was cheap but really a fab lens.
Thank you for the compliments, its really appreciated!

The African bush elephant is the larger of the two species of African elephant. Both it and the African forest elephant have usually been classified as a single species, known simply as the African elephant, but recent evidence has seen the forest elephant classified as a distinct species . Some authorities still consider the currently available evidence as insufficient for splitting African elephants into two species.
