Trichordestra legitima (Striped Garden Caterpillar)
Trichordestra legitima (Striped Garden Caterpillar) feeding on Eupatorium perfoliatum (Boneset).
The species reported host plants cover a wide range of families but so far I have only found this insect on members of the Asteraceae.
The Striped Garden Caterpillar is a moth of the Noctuidae family. It is found in eastern North America, from Newfoundland to Florida, west to Texas, north to Saskatchewan.
