Just hanging out on Common Milkweed is a Slender Meadow Katydid (Conocephalus fasciatus) at the Marlborough Forest, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I am told this is a female due to the elongated and blade-like ovipositor.

Conocephalus fasciatus is a katydid in the Conocephalus (smaller meadow katydids) genus.
