
''Amanita parcivolvata'' is a fungus that produces fruit bodies that vaguely resemble those of ''Amanita muscaria''. It is differentiated, however, by its lack of an annulus, by the volval deposits on its stipe/base, and by its pileal striations.

If you are referring to the common name, False Caesar's mushroom, it may be because people often mistake it for the edible Amanita section. Caesareae. I've actually seen more people mistake it for Amanita muscaria (or related species). Posted 5 years ago
