The Purplestem aster

"Symphyotrichum puniceum", commonly known as Purplestem Aster, Red-stemmed Aster or Swamp Aster, is an herbaceous perennial native to eastern North America. It also has several names that are now obsolete, such as Early Purple Aster and Meadow Scabish.
