Bouillon Bolete (Lanmaoa pallidorosea)?
Found under mostly pines on a lakeside trail in Bartow County, Georgia, US. August 30, 2020.
Cap/upper surface: Smooth, pink in color.
Cap/underside: Tiny yellow pores which stain blue very quickly. Flesh is cream/pale yellow and seems to only stain close to the cap surface.
Stipe: Pale yellow at apex, transitioning to a peach hue (yellow undertones). No notable reticulation. Slight ridges but mostly smooth. Bruises when scratched (externally).
Taste: Pleasant, mild.
Odor: I can't quite place the odor. Unusual. Jason says it smells like beef bouillon.
Chemistry: KOH - yellow/copper on cap. Ammonia--No reaction. Iron salts- gray on cap.
