False Giant Swallowtail I have seen this butterfly hiding in bamboo plants in the back of my yard over the past few weeks. It finally stopped in my yard while I was out with my camera. It's pretty beat up, see that its right wing is shredded, and the left node on the bottom right is also missing. It doesn't seem to have any difficulty flying. 3. Project Noah corrected my ID of this butterfly. it should be Giant Western Swallowtail, Papilio rumiko. I will go ahead and change it, if you agree. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papilio_rumiko Posted 4 years ago, modified 4 years ago
