Little lovegrass is a widespread exotic annual grass and is often found in fields, roadsides, railroads and disturbed areas. Originally from Europe, it now inhabits diverse sandy and gravelly habitats. It resembles stinking lovegrass (E. cilianensis), but its spikelets are smaller, and young plants do not smell bad.
