Hemp Bush (Gynatrix pulchella)
A shrub that grows up to 8 feet. It had small five-petaled white flowers on long stalks. Petals were obovate and conspicuous making this a male plant. Leaves were elongated, soft with a toothed margin and arranged alternately on stem.
Usually found in riparian forest, this bush was one of a few planted alongside a creek in a park.
