Lovely species, me thinks ... like the hunch-back quality of the red cross bands :o)
    2. Comment on Dicranopalpus ramosus - Juvenile one month ago
Yes, these are quite special indeed. My latest photos of these are just snapshots taken on my nightly rounds while actually looking for moths to shoot fot mothweek '19. I should have plenty images of both females and males, also with close-ups of the palps (quite different in the two sexes).

Yes, one of the eye-catchers that night :o)
    4. Comment on Pheosia gnoma one month ago
Yes, one of the more impressive highlights no doubt :o)
    5. Comment on Culiseta annulata - Male one month ago
No I didn't look into much detail on this one, as those big ones are usually our annulata, but I'll make a point of documenting the IDing characters next time (so thanks for the link!) :o)
    6. Comment on Culiseta annulata - Male one month ago
Mostly by the cheer size of it - with 10-13mm it is much larger than our other species - but also the rest fits the bill, such as the ringed legs, morphology of the palps etc.
This was just a quick snapshot while trying to get some moths in ;o) I should have better images of this species - thought I'd have one here already ... but no ... some other time...
    7. Comment on Alucita hexadactyla - Looking down on me one month ago
Tried a different angle this time, or well ... it wasn't giving much else ;o)
    8. Comment on Alucita hexadactyla - Looking down on me one month ago
Yes, too bad we only have the one species, but it's always nice to see it again :o)
    9. Comment on Xanthorhoe ferrugata - Wings closed one month ago
That was mostly just a sorry excuse for not getting a proper dorsal shot in ;o) But yes, it is good to have undersides for reference too :o)
    10. Comment on Endotricha flammealis - Resting posture one month ago
      Thanks Lisa :o)
