Multicolored Asian Lady Beetle Pupa - Harmonia axyridis
Spotted on a frigid autumn afternoon, this fresh lady beetle pupa had not yet hardened and kept moving up and down as it got acclimated to its new life stage. It was yellow and pale orange in color, had an elongated dome shape, and was attached to a leaf with the spiky remains of the larval skin clearly seen clinging to one end. As it hardens, it will turn dark orange with black spots.
