A deep sea shrimp (Oplophorus gracilirostris) exuding glowing fluids as a defensive mechanism, trawled from the Gulf of Mexico from between 1,200 and 1,000 meters depth, July 2018. Part of the DEEPEND project.
It took a lot of tweaking and learning. I had capturing the bioluminescence down but getting the shrimp to show up in its true color took some learning on my part and teaching from a BBC photographer.

Both in description fields (part of the photo) and in comment fields like these, you can paste Youtube or Vimeo links, which will then render as video player.
Also, when a video is strictly focusing on one video, you can add the video to the JungleDragon species record. Check out the species block on this page, it has a video icon below it.

Since the video is only a few seconds of this specific species, I tried to add the video following the prompts on the species specific page here. Didn't upload. I don't post on YouTube or Vimeo so unfortunately, that won't help. What am I doing wrong in trying to upload the video clip?

You're doing nothing wrong, it's just that JungleDragon does not allow for direct uploading of videos, only the embedding of videos hosted on other platforms (Youtube, Vimeo) are supported. Creating a video platform is incredible complex and expensive, hope you understand that it's not within reach for a small site.
Do you have any objections against posting on Vimeo (other than effort)? They're quite supportive of independent video creators, and also have really high quality video streaming.

Thanks, man! And since I know you increasingly post videos on Facebook, it may actually be a good idea to host also your other videos on Vimeo. Not everybody is on Facebook, and if they are, they still may not see your videos if they are not friended. I'd expect your videos to be found more often this way.
