Tree Hair - Stemonitis splendens

Tall blackish brown sporangia on thin stalks, which were growing in dense clusters on rotting wood. They were about 25 mm tall, which is much larger than I normally see.

Chocolate tube slime molds look like brown hairs growing on wood. These are clusters of stalked sporangia.
