Nile Monitor walking towards Mara River This dark, slow-moving thing in the corner of my eye caught my attention. It turns out to be a Nile monitor. These are quite big, growing up to 2m in length. Although they occur throughout Africa, this was our only spotting during the trip (except for a dead one, killed by a crocodile).
